Youth Workshops

Since 2011 MSC has sponsored a free summer workshop for children. Typically held in July, this free one-afternoon event has been extremely popular. All materials are provided by MSC. Library staff and MSC members assist the children, and parents are welcome to stay through the workshop. Space is limited and spots fill up within hours. If you are interested in your child attending, watch for kids’ activities on the library’s website and reserve online (search under Events at Madeira Library: chpl.org/locations/MA/).

Our own Marjorie R, or “Mini Marjorie” as the kids called her, started this with a Halloween themed workshop at Hobby Lobby in 2011. From 2012 on, it has been held at the Madeira Branch of The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Marjorie continued to organize it for over 10 years and has now passed the baton to other MSC members. We honored her at our Show & Sale in 2023.

Some our our past projects are shown in the galleries below, along with creations made by our young attendees at the “Let’s Go Camping!” workshop in 2018 and the “Surf’s Up!” workshop in 2019.
